Reliability & Maintenance
CMRP Certification Training
Prepare for the Society for Maintenance & Reliability Professionals exam across the five pillars of the SMRP Body of Knowledge. Four weeks online, taught in English, French or Arabic.
What is the CMRP?
The Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional is the certification awarded by the Society for Maintenance & Reliability Professionals. It attests that a practitioner has command of the five pillars of the SMRP Body of Knowledge, and it is recognised across industrial sectors.
It is a practitioner’s credential, not an academic one. The exam does not test what you have read; it tests whether you can decide, prioritise and justify in the field. That distinction shapes how this programme is built.
MARAMM prepares you for that exam. The certification itself is awarded by the SMRP, on the strength of its own examination, not by us.
The five pillars, one specialist each
Each pillar is taught by an expert who practises in that field. Five instructors, not one generalist.
Pillar 1 · Business & Management
How reliability contributes to economic performance, and how to argue that contribution to a board.
Pillar 2 · Manufacturing Process Reliability
Reliability of production processes, throughput losses, and the link between process and asset.
Pillar 3 · Equipment Reliability
Failure modes, criticality, condition monitoring and the analysis that turns data into a decision.
Pillar 4 · Organization & Leadership
Competence, team structure, and the human conditions that make a reliability programme survive.
Pillar 5 · Work Management
Planning, scheduling, work execution and the measurement of what was actually achieved.
How the programme runs
Three weeks of teaching, then one week devoted to the mock exam. The mock exam is not a formality: it reproduces the format and pressure of the real one, and it is where most candidates discover which pillar they have underestimated.
The programme is delivered online, with continuous mentoring and a digital platform. Teaching adapts to your language, English, French or Arabic, and to your level.
If your professional commitments make four consecutive weeks impossible, the schedule extends. The SMRP exam is recommended within six months of enrolment, and the programme is built to fit inside that window.
Am I eligible?
Yes, there is an experience requirement, and its length depends on your level of education.
| Level of education | Experience required |
|---|---|
| Secondary school diploma or equivalent | 5 years of practice in maintenance or reliability |
| College or university degree | 3 years of practice in maintenance or reliability |
| Master’s degree or higher | 1 year of practice in maintenance or reliability |
What counts is field practice in maintenance and reliability, not administrative seniority. If your situation is borderline, talk to us before enrolling: we check your file with you rather than let you discover the obstacle after paying.
Questions we are asked
Who awards the CMRP, MARAMM or the SMRP?
The SMRP. MARAMM prepares you for its examination; the certification is issued by the SMRP on the result of that exam.
How long does the preparation take?
Four weeks: three of teaching and one dedicated to the mock exam. The window extends up to six months if your work schedule requires it.
In which language is the training delivered?
English, French or Arabic, according to the learner’s need and level.
Is there a mock exam?
Yes, in the fourth week. It reproduces the format of the SMRP exam and is the core of the preparation.
Do I need a degree to sit the CMRP?
No. Eligibility rests on professional experience: five years with a secondary diploma, three years with a university degree, one year with a master’s or higher.
How does the CMRP relate to ISO 55001?
They answer different questions. The CMRP certifies an individual practitioner in reliability and maintenance; ISO 55001 certifies an organisation’s asset management system. Many professionals hold both. See our page on ISO 55001.

Places are limited by the number of learners each specialist can mentor properly. Contact MARAMM to check the next intake and confirm your eligibility.
