Measure maturity, when everyone else declares it
Why asset management needs a discipline of evidence, and how Marametry delivers it, from the declaration all the way to the field.
01
Billions in assets, a measure that rests on words
Every investment, maintenance or renewal decision rests on one conviction: do we know how to manage our assets? To answer it, most organisations assess themselves. Respondents’ sincerity is not in question; the absence of verification is. With no evidence required, the same answer can describe a solid practice or a mere intention, and nothing tells them apart.
This is not an opinion, it is a regulator’s finding. After assessing its whole sector through self-declaration, the British water authority observed wide variation and areas that were « hard to evidence », before turning the exercise into a regulatory obligation. When words are no longer enough, evidence is demanded.
Between what an organisation declares and what it can demonstrate lies the whole value of a measurable diagnostic.
02
Marametry, the answer through measurement
Marametry was born of proven field reality, made all the more compelling as regulators keep arriving at the same finding. Designed by MARAMM, it is a diagnostic instrument that does not simply collect answers: it puts them to the test. Three requirements, which no conventional diagnostic brings together, turn a score into a measurement.
Graded evidence
A claim is not worth a documented practice, which is not worth factual proof. The level of evidence raises, or settles, what an answer can be worth.
Stated reliability
The diagnostic distinguishes what is firmly established from what remains to be confirmed, and says so. No conclusion is presented beyond what it can support.
Standard traceability
Every requirement of ISO 55001 finds its answer, clause by clause. An auditor can verify, line by line, where each requirement is assessed.
The level of evidence raises the value of an answer: words alone never reach the top.
03
The world converges, Marametry crosses the line
The major national frameworks, from the British water regulator to Canada’s federal municipal programme and the American transport framework, assess maturity along neighbouring dimensions, anchored in the same family of standards. This global convergence proves one thing: maturity can be measured, and it is measured everywhere in the same language, the language Marametry speaks natively, clause by clause of ISO 55001.
Yet none of these frameworks, however recognised, brings the three requirements together. All of them stop at the declaration.
Marametry begins where they stop: it demands evidence, measures variables and figures, states a global vision. Speaking the regulators’ language was the prerequisite; crossing that line is the difference.
04
When the stakes are serious, you verify
Where consequences are heavy, regulators no longer settle for self-declaration, and the movement is global. The British rail regulator has its infrastructure manager’s maturity assessed by an independent third party. In Australia, the New South Wales authority has its water operator’s asset management audited every year. In the United States, federal law requires transport agencies to produce an asset management plan. In Canada, access to certain federal funding is tied to municipalities’ progress on the matter.
Independent verification is the standard for serious stakes, yet it remains costly, slow, and reserved for a handful of large regulated operators.
05
The third way
Marametry takes the discipline of the audit and delivers it at the accessibility of a diagnostic.
A rigorous digital platform, extended by evaluators who verify all the way to the field, within a progressive recognition path that prepares, for those who wish, for accredited certification, without ever substituting for it.
Three levels of recognition
The path has three levels, and the bar is the same everywhere: a Marametry level means the same thing in Casablanca, Paris or London.
Level 1AttestationYour asset management approach is structured and under way.
Level 2CertifiedYour essential practices are demonstrated.
Level 3AdvancedExcellence, demonstrated across the board.
06
Sovereign and confidential by design
Data and supporting documents are encrypted and hosted in a fully sovereign manner; their analysis relies on artificial intelligence trained and kept under full control. What enters the diagnostic stays in the diagnostic: confidentiality is not an option, it is the architecture.
Manage maturity as an asset
A maturity that can be measured, proven and tracked over time becomes an asset in its own right: something you steer, grow and account for. That is the promise of Marametry, from the first diagnostic to certification readiness.
